OK..so a little "a to z" on reviewing audio evidence..
Am NOT saying anything new to those here who are investigators who are SERIOUS about finding GOOD evidence that cannot be justified through modern science or equipment..in other words..we cannot rule out what we are hearing..and in the same breath, we cannot explain it..
That being said..reviewing audio evidence..has got to be one of the most BRAIN drenching, reality screw jobs on the planet. Our brains, are preset to rule out certain noises automatically, thus putting them into the background of our senses simply so we can communicate with EACH OTHER better. When an investigator, isolates themselves into an audio feed in order to "review" they are limiting their communication, thus, sounds become more evident in the reality of what is there..and what SHOULD be there.
An unfortunate side affect of this isolation, is what we call "audio matrixing" JUST as with your vision (when you stare at clouds, your mind begins to relate to images within your memory banks and tags that familiar image to the cloud..thus..an Cumulus can be an ice cream cone..lol) YOUR ears..do the same thing..the normal hissing, popping and relevant background noises..begin to become words, groans or things that the mind can relate to..this..accounts fora bout 80% of the "EVP's" that are presented as evidence. Another 15%, can be thrown into the inability to quarantine an environment..in other words...yep..ya forgot "Joe Dirt" was playing in the room down the hall..but then..there are the 5% ..that we simply cannot explain..and THOSE pieces..are the ones that serious investigators seek.
